The Healer

I recall the teachings of my Reiki Master:
  • Reiki heals spiritually, emotionally, and physically.
  • Reiki practitioners are not The Healer, God is.
  • Reiki practitioners are conduits to focus this universal power.
That middle sentence has been my mantra of late.

Kindness in sharing

At the close of a session, my clients are generous in sharing some of the physical, emotional and spiritual manifestations experienced during the Reiki session. Some say:

  • "...felt a tingling in every cell, an awakening."
  • "...felt a swish from my head to my toes, like things leaving."
  • "The calm makes it possible for me to feel more than think which way to go."
And I am pleased to accept the wonder and energy that occurs.

I only provide the quiet space and encourage getting to that inner core.

The rest is between that person and his or her creator.

Namaste.

Observing new Reiki Masters

Earlier this week I attended the celebration of three new Reiki Masters upon completion of formal studies. These students had been mentored by my daughter's Reiki Master, Carla. Here are some observations:

The students expressed differing yet completely harmonious views of how becoming a Reiki practitioner is incorporated into their lives life.

  • For one, it was an additional modality to bring to the conversation with her existing clients.
  • Another expressed he wasn't sure what he would do with Reiki in his life, but that he clearly sensed it was part of his journey, part of his discovery.
  • The third student felt Reiki was a natural extention of striving to live close to nature.

I've been thinking about how perfect and authentic their comments are.

Hidden messages in water

Nasaru Emoto's work  came to my attention in What the Bleep...?

"Using high-speed photography, Dr. Masaru Emoto discovered that crystals formed in frozen water reveal changes when specific, concentrated thoughts are directed toward them. He found that water from clear springs and water that has been exposed to loving words shows brilliant, complex, and colorful snowflake patterns. In contrast, polluted water, or water exposed to negative thoughts, forms incomplete, asymmetrical patterns with dull colors. The implications of this research create a new awareness of how we can positively impact the earth and our personal health." From Amazon.com's description of The hidden Messages in Water.
