Perspective

Studying diverse cultures broadens my perspective.

We captured this image at the Neah Bay (Washington) Museum reflecting various eras of the Makah Indian Tribe which has lived in  the area for thousands of years. These Natives have also embraced modern technology, as they have a website: http://www.neahbaywa.com

Am I adaptable? Do I always look back? Do I look to the future? What about living in the Now?

Are we...

In life, are we the water, mountain, grasses, tall trees? Rocks upon the shore?

Fog

Fog rolls in but can we always see it?

Grandma Reiki

If Reiki is the strength to channel positive energy, then I've been channeling it since Tracen was born nearly 17 years go.

It speaks to love.

It speaks to encouragement.

It speaks to fostering independence in others.

It speaks to joy.

Healing

I seek to heal myself, and enrich the lives of loved ones.

I am lately drawn to A Modern Reiki Method for Healing by Hiroshi Doi. Amazon explains "Usui Reiki Ryoho is a Japanese technique for creating happiness, relaxation and healing. The author, Hiroshi Doi, is a Japanese Reiki Master who is a member of the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai, the original association started by the founder of Usui Reiki, Usui Sensei."

Learning

The Pacific Ocean smooths rocks over millennia. I wonder how long it will take for Life to teach me similar lessons?

Journey to the cape

We took this path among ancient cedars near Neah Bay, Washington, on the way to the Cape Flattery lookout. My husband helped me here and there as some of the stones and wooden planks were a bit slippery.

Our lives are like that.

What is Reiki?

I see Reiki as a form of meditation.

A pathway to see who I am in the Universe.

I don't confuse Reiki with religion.

Practicing Reiki is like practicing Hatha Yoga and discussing Quantum Physics.

I've lately noticed scientists, particularly those "quantum" physicists acknowledge "God" as things couldn't happen by chance. I've even met physicians who acknowledge their hands were guided in surgery.

I see Reiki as a method of quieting my soul so I may more clearly consider being a positive influence in my family and among my dearest friends.

I and II

Today I received Level I and II attunements from my daughter Tam. It was very smooth, natural, and comfortable – like a conversation really. Our discussion centered on the following thoughts:

  • Reiki heals spiritually, emotionally, and physically.
  • Reiki practitioners are not The Healer, God is.
  • Reiki practitioners are conduits to focus this universal power.
